Project Transitioning Engineer

Project Implementation Engineer

Location: Newark - This role is based in Newark

Job Purpose:

To help improve the customer experience as part of the transition into project, and to document and train process / experience into BAU teams before handing over to the support teams.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Work closely with the project managers and project implementation engineers with building and testing low-level designs in the Digital Space lab
  • Liaise directly with project managers regarding action logs and migration plans
  • Testing, validation, PoC and pilot support
  • Development and support of standardised templates for customer solutions
  • Assisting in the Digital Space Labs and help drive us forward in our internal POC
  • Product testing and documentation
  • Devising support guides, internal customer solution documentation and operational run books
  • Assist with the technical handover into the operation for new services and solutions
  • Providing early life support and assistance in the support operation
  • Post implementation support as required
  • Deliver a first-class customer experience
  • Firewall, Switch and Router builds and configs, specific to a customer solution
  • Focus on Fortinet SD-WAN solutions
  • Contribute to the ‘network as built’ documentation for a project
  • Transition to support, including post implementation assistance
  • Update internal and external systems with technical information and data required to provide support to the delivered service
  • Flexibility in approach
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • From time to time, assist the Technical Support teams when project work is at low levels

  • Documentation – Run Books, Engineering Notes, Wiki’s
  • ADSL, 4G, Ethernet, TCP/IP
  • Cisco and Fortinet operating systems
  • VPN
  • WAN and LAN
  • SD-WAN

This role is Permanent and is based at our Head office in Newark
