Project Engineering Delivery Lead Connectivity

As the Project Engineering Delivery Lead – Connectivity, Head of Project Engineering - Connectivity, you will play a critical role in leading a team of skilled engineers to oversee and deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a team of network engineers in the implementation of complex network projects.
  • Providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and requirements.
  • Oversee and contribute to the development of engineering designs, technical specifications, and solutions that meet project goals and industry standards. (HLD/LLD)
  • Apply technical knowledge to understand and deliver project requirements.
  • Ensure that all engineering work meets high-quality standards, is following process, regulations, and adheres to safety protocols.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation plans to minimize project disruptions and cost overruns.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including design drawings, technical documents, and progress reports.
  • Postimplementation assistance including handover of solutions to BAU support ensuring that any network diagrams, special instructions or supporting documentation specific to the customer’s environment are clearly described and logical.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams, clients, and contractors.
  • Continuously monitor project engineer resource against progress, performance, and adherence to schedules. Implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Evaluate team members' performance, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a network engineering team.
  • Network Design
  • Documentation standards, Low Level Designs, topology diagrams, Word / Visio / Excel
  • Confident with customer workshops and presentations
  • Detailed knowledge of large network deployment        
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Exposure to project delivery methodologies
  • Exposure to scripting, for example, Python
  • ITIL Methodologies

Knowledge and Skills:

  • CCNA / CCNP
  • Cisco Meraki
  • JNCIA
  • CompTIA Network+
  • NSE 4, 5, 6, 7
  • ADSL, 4G, Ethernet, TCP/IP
  • IPSEC and SSL / Remote Access VPN’s
  • Load Balancing
  • Traffic shaping and prioritising QoS / CoS
  • Dynamic Routing Protocols such as BGP / OSPF
  • First Hop Redundancy Protocols such as HSRP / VRRP
  • High Availability
  • WAN and LAN
  • SD-WAN
  • FortiManager / FortiAnalyzer

  • Valid Full UK driving license
  • Expectation to undertake UK travel to meet business needs
  • Comfortable with some unsocial working hours e.g. when travelling or performing project work

  • Focus on lab based and provisioning activities from the Digital Space offices
